Does my employer need to be in a free zone?
No, both mainland and free zone companies can sponsor employment visas. Requirements differ slightly.
Can I change employers?
Yes, since the 2022 reforms, changing employers is much easier. The new employer must apply for a new visa.
Can I change employers?
Yes, but you need to apply for a new work visa. The new employer must sponsor the visa. There is a 30-day transition period.
What taxes will I pay in the UAE?
The UAE does not levy personal income tax. There is no capital gains tax and no inheritance tax. Since 2023, a 9% corporate tax applies to companies with profits above AED 375,000.
Can my family come along?
Yes, you can sponsor your spouse and children as dependants. The minimum salary for sponsoring dependants is AED 4,000 per month.
