Overview

Why the Thailand Privilege Card?

The Thailand Privilege Card (formerly Elite Visa) is a membership with Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. that comes with a long-stay visa: 5 to 20 years of residence, depending on the tier. It fits if you want to live in Thailand and your income comes from abroad. It does not fit if you want to work or run a business in Thailand; that needs a work permit.

The card includes VIP airport services (fast-track immigration, limousine), lounge access and, depending on the package, further benefits such as an annual health check-up. We compare the tiers with your planned length of stay and tell you when a higher tier pays off.

Thailand Privilege (Elite Visa) 2026: fees, visa and rules

Living in Thailand, company in Hong Kong or Singapore

If you hold a company in Hong Kong or Singapore alongside the card, keep this in mind: what counts is where the work is actually done and where decisions are made: if the company is run from a desk in Thailand, its profits can count as Thai-source income.

How much is the Thailand Elite Visa in 2026?
Membership fees per Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. (as of 3 Nov 2026): Bronze THB 650,000 and Gold THB 900,000 for 5 years each, Platinum THB 1,500,000 for 10 years, Diamond THB 2,500,000 for 15 years, Reserve THB 5,000,000 for 20 years (by invitation only). On top comes an application fee of THB 50,000 including VAT, which is credited against the membership fee once you are approved. You pay the membership fee once for the whole term.
Is the Thailand Privilege Card worth it?
Weigh it against the retirement visa: spread over 5 years, Bronze costs THB 130,000 a year. The retirement visa costs only official fees, but requires age 50, THB 800,000 or THB 65,000 income a month and a new extension every year. From 50 and with that money, the retirement visa is usually cheaper. The card fits if you are younger, do not want to prove income or do not want to tie up money in Thailand. If you bring foreign income into Thailand, also compare the LTR visa: for three LTR categories this income is exempt from Thai income tax (Royal Decree No. 743).
How does the Privilege Card application work?
You submit the application with your passport (valid for at least 1 year) and pay the THB 50,000 application fee. Immigration runs a background check; TPC does not require a minimum age, proof of income or a property purchase. After approval you pay the membership fee, the card is activated and you receive the Privilege Entry Visa. How long the check takes at the moment, we tell you in the call.
What is the Thailand Privilege Card and who is it for?
The Thailand Privilege Card is a membership with a long-stay visa for foreigners who want to live in Thailand for 5 to 20 years. It is a right to stay, not a right to work and not a business visa. It suits retirees and people with income from abroad who want to stay long without an income test.
Which package is right?
That depends on your planned stay duration and budget. The lowest entry is Bronze: THB 650,000 for 5 years (per Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd., as of 3 Nov 2026). If you come with family: additional members are only possible from Platinum up, otherwise each person needs their own membership.
Can I renew the Privilege Card?
You pay the membership fee once for the whole term; upgrading to a higher tier is possible (Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd.). TPC does not describe renewing a membership after it ends; we clarify what applies before you buy. The visa itself (Privilege Entry Visa) gives 1 year per entry and can be extended in Thailand by 1 year at a time.
I have a company: do I need the Privilege Card for it?
No. The Privilege Card only governs where you may live; your company does not need it. Anyone who lives in Thailand and holds a company in Hong Kong or Singapore keeps residence and management deliberately apart: a company run from Thailand can earn Thai-source profits. Which company fits, we check in the first call.
What taxes will I pay in Thailand?
It depends on how long you spend in Thailand each year. Anyone in Thailand for 180 days or more in a calendar year is tax resident there and pays income tax on Thai-source income and on foreign income to the extent it is brought into Thailand (Revenue Department). The rate is progressive at 0–35%. Since 1 Jan 2024, foreign income is taxed in the year it is brought into Thailand, no matter when it was earned; income earned before 2024 is exempt from this (Por. 161/2566 and 162/2566). The card itself brings no tax advantage. What still applies in your home country depends on your residence there.
Can I work in Thailand with the Thailand Privilege Card?
No. Thailand Privilege Card Co., Ltd. states that members are not allowed to engage in local employment. Anyone who wants to work or run a business locally needs a work permit.
Can my family come along?
Yes, from Platinum up. With Platinum, Diamond and Reserve you can add your spouse, children and parents as additional members, each with their own member ID and the same visa rights. Bronze and Gold do not allow this; each person then needs their own membership. TPC states the price per additional member differently in two places (THB 500,000, or THB 750,000 as a promotion); we confirm the current amount before you apply.
